
Diplomatic sources told Sahafat Watan that the Lebanese ambassador in Washington held two coordination meetings in recent days with the team of the US secretary of state, devoted to following up on preparations for the anticipated third meeting. The most prominent issues on the table were discussed, foremost among them the issue of Israeli violations, with emphasis on the need for a ceasefire.
According to the sources, the third round of Lebanese-Israeli talks will be held next week at the US State Department in Washington over two consecutive days, either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday, with the participation of Ambassador Simon Karam, Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, Deputy Head of Mission Consul Wissam Boutros, in addition to a representative of the Lebanese Army.
