Salam: Targeting Journalists Is a Blatant Violation of International Law and a Call for Their Protection and an End to Attacks

Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam stated:

“Targeting journalists constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a clear breach of the rules that guarantee the protection of journalists in times of war.

Lebanon, which highly values freedom of the press and its role, reaffirms its commitment to protecting journalists and calls for respect for international law, the safeguarding of civilians’ lives, and an end to Israeli attacks targeting them.

On behalf of the government, I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs Ali Shuaib, Fatima Fattouhi, and Mohammad Fattouhi, as well as to their colleagues.”
