
Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar affirmed in a statement to Al-Jadeed TV that “we are taking all measures and procedures to maintain security in areas hosting displaced persons.”
Al-Hajjar added, “President Aoun informed me today of the need to reinforce the Lebanese Army’s presence on the ground and to conduct patrols,” emphasizing that the ministry “is working to ensure security across all Lebanese regions and we will intensify the presence of security forces on the ground.”
Regarding the targeting of Ain Saadeh, the minister explained, “I have followed up on the details with all security agencies, and this matter is under their responsibility,”
stressing that “the Lebanese Army does not collude against its people, and we have full confidence in it and in the progress of the investigations announced in its statements.”
Al-Hajjar concluded: “We understand the people’s outcry and I ask them not to lose trust in the security forces.”
