Remarks by MP Melhem Riachi, member of the "Strong Republic" bloc, after his meeting with the President of the Republic:

- We affirmed our full alignment with His Excellency the President on the issue of negotiations, and we support his steps and performance in managing this phase, while continuing to back him in his efforts aimed at ending the crisis and protecting Lebanon.

- The priority at this stage is to secure a ceasefire and bring the situation in southern Lebanon under control.

- Any international meetings will come at the appropriate time, and after tangible progress has been achieved.

- I understood from His Excellency the President that there are positive indications in the United States' position toward Lebanon.
