Political analyst Professor Majid Hadeeb commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s statements regarding the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the possibility of its intervention to protect the Strait of Hormuz, considering that these remarks are primarily directed at a domestic audience rather than reflecting an actual operational plan on the ground.
Hadeeb said:
"Trump’s statements about NATO intervention are merely domestic propaganda; the alliance, exhausted in Ukraine, will not risk a suicidal war. Today, everyone—including Arab countries—understands that the cost of engaging in the ‘New Middle East’ project is high, and they will not serve Washington and Tel Aviv’s ambitions at the expense of their own security and economy."
