
A painful human tragedy struck an Egyptian village in Sohag governorate in the south of the country after a wedding procession turned into a funeral, following the deaths of four people.
According to the details, a horrific collision occurred between a number of motorcycles taking part in the "zaffa" wedding procession, while participants were celebrating the happy occasion, resulting in the deaths of four young men and injuries to others.
Sohag’s security director received a report of a mass collision involving several motorcycles during residents’ celebrations of a wedding in the village of Qaw Issa, within the Tama district, causing casualties.
Ambulances were dispatched to transport the bodies and the injured to Tama Central Hospital. A report was filed on the incident, and the investigative authorities were notified to begin inquiries and uncover the circumstances of the accident.
Security forces and detectives also moved to the scene of the report, and examination and inspection showed that four young men had died from their severe injuries, while others suffered fractures and various wounds as a result of losing control of the motorcycles during the celebration.
