
The Iraqi Prime Minister discussed with the U.S. Secretary of War ways to develop bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington across various fields, with a particular focus on security and military cooperation, within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries.
The Iraqi Prime Minister’s media office said the American official congratulated the Iraqi leadership on being tasked with forming the new government, stressing the importance of continuing joint coordination.
The call also addressed the need to reactivate military training programs in a way that would help strengthen the capabilities of the Iraqi forces and raise their level of readiness, alongside improving field performance in line with current security challenges.
During the talks, both sides affirmed the special nature of Iraqi-American relations and their commitment to strengthening them and expanding areas of joint cooperation in the coming period.
