Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam wrote on his account on the X platform:
"On the occasion of the election today of a new board of trustees for the Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association in Beirut, and the selection of engineer Diana Tabbarah as its president,
I extend my greetings ‘to our society, which has demonstrated the extent of its openness and progress by choosing this year, for the first time, two capable women to head the two largest Islamic institutions in Lebanon: Makassed and Dar al-Aytam.’
And I said, ‘Be assured that I will not retreat from any position or any word I have previously stated. Our project is one: building the state. And there is no state except with one army and one law, and no one is above the law or outside it… I am confident that through our solidarity we will overcome all difficulties and succeed in our project.’
He concluded: ‘Makassed will remain a beacon in Beirut, a beacon in Lebanon, and a shield for sincere patriotism within it.’
