Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, received a delegation from the Union of Bakeries Syndicates in Lebanon, headed by Nasser Sroor, with the presence of Amer Bassat. The meeting focused on ensuring the stability of bread supply during the current period.
After the meeting, Sroor explained that it was emphasized that bread must not be monopolized or absent in any region. He pointed out that flour and wheat stocks in the country are sufficient for more than three months, whether in mills, bakeries, or shipments at sea.
The discussion also addressed the recent rise in bread prices. The Bakers’ Union stressed that any price increase should be justified, take into account the citizens’ difficult conditions, and not place additional pressure on them.
