The Choueifat area witnessed a state of anxiety and security tension after it was revealed that a student at Choueifat National College School had contacted an Israeli entity and falsely reported the presence of weapons inside the educational institution’s campus, causing intensive surveillance drone (MK) flights over the area for two days.
According to media sources, the threads of the case began to unravel after a classmate of the student — who was aware of the incident — informed the school administration of what had happened. Administrative sources said the school moved immediately and notified the Lebanese security services. A gendarmerie patrol arrived at the scene, and the student and her father were detained for questioning under the supervision of the competent judiciary, before later being released pending investigation.
In the wake of the incident, the administration of National College Choueifat issued a firm statement describing what had occurred as a direct affront to the institution’s standing and security. The administration stressed that "the investigative file remains open," noting that any student proven to have been involved in acts or statements that harm the school or expose it to danger, whether on the ground or عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي, will face strict legal prosecution.
The administration also revealed that coordination is currently underway with intelligence agencies to track all violations, warning that school penalties will extend to "criminalization and permanent expulsion," while holding students and their parents fully legally and financially responsible for these "reckless" actions that threatened the safety of students and the teaching staff.
The school concluded its statement by issuing a "final warning" to all parents on the need to control their children’s behavior and fully comply with regulations, stressing that it will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect the sanctity of the institution and preserve its educational dignity.
