Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed the existing investment cooperation between Egypt and France’s CMA CGM, which specializes in container transport and maritime shipping, praising the company’s role in implementing multiple projects in Egypt in the seaports and dry ports sectors.
This came during his meeting with the company’s chairman, Rodolphe Saadé, on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi, where El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s aspiration to expand the company’s investments, particularly within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, benefiting from new investment incentives and the notable development in infrastructure and the maritime transport sector.
The meeting also addressed the repercussions of regional tensions on maritime traffic, as the Egyptian president presented his country’s vision calling for enhanced cooperation among the various parties in the international shipping system, with the aim of containing bottlenecks and reducing their impact on supply chains and global trade, particularly in the energy and security sectors.
