
Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea received at Maarab a delegation of ambassadors and diplomats from the European Union and a number of European and foreign countries, headed by European Union Ambassador to Lebanon Sandra De Waele. The delegation included Canadian Ambassador Gregory Galligan, German Chargé d’Affaires Yasmin Raya, Italian Chargé d’Affaires Valeria Bianconi, Swedish Chargé d’Affaires Alice Wadström, Polish Chargé d’Affaires Mateusz Leziak, Deputy Head of Mission at the Danish Embassy Dorthe Shortsen, Dutch Deputy Ambassador Marieke Veerda, Deputy Head of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy Reidun Otterøy, Deputy Head of Mission at the United Kingdom Embassy Victoria Dunn, Australian Deputy Ambassador Alice Kilsall, Romanian Consul Daniel-Alexandru, French political attaché Romain Calvary, and coordinator at the Finnish Embassy Camilla Anttila.
Also attending the meeting were members of the “Strong Republic” bloc: former Deputy Prime Minister MP Ghassan Hasbani, MPs Ghada Ayoub and Razi El Hage, head of the Foreign Relations Department and former minister Richard Kouyoumjian, and department official Tony Darwish.
The talks addressed the general situation in Lebanon, particularly the course of the required reforms at the financial, economic and administrative levels, and ways to push for their implementation in a manner that contributes to rebuilding state institutions and restoring the confidence of the Lebanese people and the international community.
