Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Wednesday that Tehran is still studying the U.S. proposal on ending the war, and that his country will inform the Pakistani side of its response after completing the summary of its views.
Baghaei said in remarks to the local ISNA news agency: "The United States' proposal is still under review by Iran, and after Iran completes the summary of its views, it will convey them to the Pakistani side."
In the same context, U.S. reports, citing officials, revealed that Washington and Tehran are close to reaching a brief one-page memorandum of understanding to end the war, noting that the anticipated Iranian response is expected within 48 hours.
