
This morning, President Michel Aoun held a phone call with the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, condemning the attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and affirming the solidarity of the Lebanese people with the brotherly Bahraini people. He also denounced the involvement of political groups in a sabotage plot that Bahrain announced it had foiled.
King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa thanked President Aoun for his supportive stance toward Bahrain and its people, calling for an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanon and for the alleviation of the suffering of the Lebanese people.
Major General Hassan Chkeir:
Later, President Aoun continued his meetings at Baabda Palace, receiving the Director General of General Security, Major General Hassan Chkeir, and discussing the security situation in Lebanon, military developments, the work of General Security across the country, and the situation of displaced persons.
Head of the “Popular Bloc”:
At Baabda Palace, President Aoun also met with the head of the “Popular Bloc,” Ms. Myriam Skaff, who reaffirmed her support for the positions taken by the President and for his recently announced negotiation initiative, as well as for the government’s decisions aimed at stabilizing the country.
Ms. Skaff praised the role of the Lebanese Army in maintaining security, emphasizing the need to support it on all fronts, stand by it, and rally around it.
Discussions also covered the situation in the Bekaa region in general, and in Zahle in particular, including the needs of the local population.
