
Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Youssef Reggi received a phone call from the European Union Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, during which she reaffirmed the EU’s support for Lebanon during this critical period.
Commissioner Šuica emphasized the Union’s readiness to provide necessary humanitarian assistance given the exceptional circumstances the country is facing, particularly amid escalating field and humanitarian challenges.
During the call, the EU Commissioner reviewed the latest developments on the Lebanese scene, with a special focus on the rapidly evolving situation in the south, where concerns over expanding tensions are rising.
For his part, Minister Reggi briefed her on the Lebanese government’s efforts to contain the escalation, highlighting measures aimed at maintaining internal stability and implementing the decision to keep arms under state authority, reinforcing Lebanon’s sovereignty and mitigating the repercussions of the current crisis.
