The Russian government has rejected circulating allegations that it provides Iran with intelligence used to target U.S. military bases in the Middle East, emphasizing that such claims are baseless.
In an interview with French television, published Thursday evening on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated: “We have supplied Iran with certain types of military equipment, but we do not accept the accusation that we are assisting Iran with intelligence data.”
Lavrov explained that the locations of U.S. military bases in the region are “widely known” and easily accessible, making the sharing of intelligence about them unnecessary.
He added: «These coordinates are not secret to be transmitted,» noting that he is «not surprised» by the attacks carried out by Iran.
