Paul Zaitoun, President of the Lebanese Federation of Workers and Employees Unions, condemned the Ministry of Economy’s disregard for rising food prices, accusing some merchants of exploiting the crisis to make profits at the expense of citizens. He called for immediate enforcement of market oversight and for those manipulating prices to be referred to the judiciary, emphasizing that controlling the markets has become an urgent necessity to protect the purchasing power and livelihoods of the Lebanese people.
