
During the Egyps 2026 conference on Monday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed the government’s commitment to creating a favorable climate for foreign investments in the gas and petroleum sectors. The remarks came during his meeting with Guido Brusco, Head of Natural Resources Operations at the Italian energy company Eni.
Madbouly highlighted the importance of Egypt’s strategic partnership with Eni, expressing the country’s ambition to accelerate gas production to meet the growing domestic demand.
Representatives from Eni praised Egypt’s economic reforms and confirmed their plans to continue expanding exploration and production activities, with a target of investing $2 billion in 2026. They also noted community initiatives in the health sector, including the provision of 400 hospital beds to serve around one million citizens.
The meeting underscores Egypt’s ongoing efforts to strengthen energy sector collaboration and attract international investment, positioning the country as a key regional hub for gas and petroleum development.
