Lebanon Declares National Day of Mourning Tomorrow for Civilian Victims of Israeli Attacks

The following statement was issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers:

“Prime Minister Dr. Najib Salam announced that tomorrow, Thursday, 9 April 2026, will be observed as a national day of mourning for the martyrs and injured of the Israeli attacks that targeted hundreds of innocent civilians. He also declared the closure of public administrations, institutions, and municipalities on this day, the lowering of flags to half-mast, and adjustments to regular programming on radio and television stations to reflect this painful national tragedy.

His Excellency extended his deepest condolences to the Lebanese people and the families of the martyrs, especially wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. He continues his communications with Arab brothers and international officials to mobilize all of Lebanon’s political and diplomatic efforts to halt the Israeli killing machine.”
