Hezbollah Political Council Deputy Chairman Mahmoud Qamati said in an interview with Al-Jadeed TV that “the President’s remarks were not surprising, but shocking, as he thanked Trump for the ceasefire and did not thank Iran.”
He added: “We agreed to the ceasefire achieved by Iran.”
Qamati stressed that “we will not return to the situation that existed before March 2, and this time we will not practice strategic patience.”
He affirmed: “We will not initiate any violation, nor will we bring down the truce, but if the enemy violates it, we will not remain silent and we will respond.”
He concluded by saying: “The issue of weapons is an internal Lebanese matter subject to dialogue between the المقاومة and the state, and no one can strip these weapons away.”
