U.S. President Donald Trump said he would not remain patient with Iran for much longer and urged it to reach an agreement with Washington.
Trump said in an interview with Fox News' "Hannity," "I will not have much more patience... They have to make a deal."
Donald Trump noted that he would "feel more comfortable" if the United States obtained the enriched uranium from Iran, considering that the justification for this was "more related to publicity purposes than anything else."
The U.S. president said in the interview, conducted in Beijing during his visit to China, "I'd prefer to get it (the uranium). I would feel more comfortable if we had it, but I think it's more about publicity than anything else."
He added, "What we can do is strike again," in reference to the strikes launched by the United States in 2025 on key Iranian nuclear sites.
However, the U.S. president said that "the Iranian leaders his administration is dealing with are rational."
Iran has not confirmed the location of the enriched uranium, which some experts believe may be buried deep underground, making the task of obtaining it extremely difficult without precise intelligence.
In the same context, Trump said his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping may have "the ability to influence Iran."
The U.S. president said his Chinese counterpart had offered help in reopening the Strait of Hormuz and pledged not to send military equipment to assist Iran in its war against the United States and Israel.
