Forged “green deeds” inside the real estate departments in Metn

The General Directorate of State Security – Media, Guidance and Public Relations Division, issued the following statement: "As part of ongoing efforts to combat forgery within public institutions and administrations, the Mount Lebanon Regional Directorate arrested a citizen at the Metn real estate departments building on 12/5/2026, after two title deeds found in his possession were suspected to be unlawful and invalid. During questioning, it emerged that he had received the two deeds from the Lebanese national S. Kh. Based on the instructions of the competent judiciary, the aforementioned individual was summoned and questioned, where he confessed to having reproduced two title deeds (‘green deed’) using color copies and handing them to the concerned party with the aim of fraud and creating the impression that they were valid official documents, in preparation for their use in real estate transactions. He was arrested and referred, along with the seized items, to the competent judiciary for the necessary legal action against him."
