Army commander on the anniversary of "Resistance and Liberation": The army will be an impregnable bulwark against conspiracies

Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal issued the Order of the Day on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day, stating the following:

Military personnel,

In the face of the fateful challenges confronting our homeland, we recall on the anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day a national milestone that marked a bright chapter in Lebanon’s history, embodying the Lebanese people’s attachment to their land, sovereignty, and national dignity in the face of the Israeli occupation.

Today, we remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and all those who contributed to safeguarding the الوطن, drawing from that period the spirit of steadfastness, unity, and hope for a more stable and prosperous future for all Lebanese.

Military personnel,

We are still living through the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression and the destruction it causes, along with the fall of thousands of martyrs and wounded across various regions, particularly in the south, alongside the occupation of Lebanese territory. The army is exerting the utmost of its capabilities, under complex circumstances and grave dangers, with the aim of mitigating the effects of the aggression and standing by citizens, especially the displaced and those who remain steadfast, while continuing its security missions, which include combating terrorism and organized crime, arresting wanted individuals and those disturbing security, and controlling and protecting the northern and eastern borders.

Hold fast to your mission, preserve your morale and constant readiness, and be confident that civil peace and national unity are the strongest weapons for protecting Lebanon and its stability, and that this is achieved through the army’s steadfastness and determination. As for attacks on the institution and attempts to cast doubt on its role from one quarter or another—at times through defamation and accusations of negligence, and at other times through sectarian and regional rumors and false allegations that serve Lebanon’s enemies—they will not deter it from continuing to perform its duty.

Our message is clear: the army will be an impregnable bulwark against conspiracies aimed at undermining internal stability and civil peace, and, thanks to the steadfastness of its personnel and the sacrifices of its martyrs and wounded, it will remain strong and cohesive, the guardian of national unity.

Your performance, commitment, and role are a school in patriotism that all should emulate.

On this occasion, our hope remains great in recovering every inch of our land, while the Lebanese, through their sacrifices, set the example in willpower, determination, and steadfastness.

I salute your resilience and strength of will despite the difficulty of this stage and the harshness of the circumstances.

Be, as I have always known you, a source of pride for your command and your Lebanese people, and a focus of trust for sisterly and friendly countries.
