
Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri continued his political and diplomatic contacts to follow the rapidly unfolding developments in Lebanon and the region. At the headquarters of the second presidency in عين التينة, he received the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jean Arnault. During the meeting, they reviewed the latest political and security developments amid Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement and its attacks targeting Lebanese territory.
Berri also met with the UN Special Envoy to the Middle East, Sigrid Kaag, in the presence of the President of the University of Balamand, Dr. Elias Warrak. The talks addressed the situation in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the repercussions of the Israeli escalation and its impact on regional stability.
As part of his meetings, the Speaker also received the head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Judge Claude Karam, and members of the commission. Discussions focused on files related to the commission’s work and the efforts being made in the field of combating corruption and promoting transparency.
