Arrest of a woman employee’s bag thief at a hospital

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division announced that, “As part of the daily follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat theft crimes across various Lebanese regions, the Information Branch obtained information about the activity of an unidentified individual involved in theft operations in areas of the Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates, the latest of which was the theft of a bag containing a mobile phone belonging to an employee from inside a hospital.

Immediately, the specialized units in the branch began their field and intelligence measures to uncover the thief’s identity and arrest him. As a result of investigations and inquiries, they were able to identify him as:

R.L. (born in 1974, Lebanese)

He has a prior record in theft and drug-related crimes.

On 13-5-2026, following close surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested him in the town of Hadath.

During questioning, he confessed to what was attributed to him.

The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority, based on the instructions of the relevant judicial authority.”
