U.S. Embassy: Reaffirming Washington’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and for arms to be held exclusively by the state

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut issued the following statement:

Ambassador Michel Issa met today with President Joseph Aoun and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, following meetings he held in Washington with President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and a number of senior officials.

Ambassador Issa renewed the United States’ support for efforts aimed at restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty and ensuring that arms are held exclusively by the state.
