British journalist and writer Jonathan Freedland offered a critical reading of the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an article published by The Guardian, highlighting the repercussions of the military approach and the internal reality in Israel.
He said: “Netanyahu’s approach, based on force and military decisiveness, has not achieved lasting security for Israelis; rather, it has increased fear and instability.”
He added: “The promises of ‘total victory’ that he repeatedly made to the government and the public have not materialized on the ground.”
He continued: “The prolonged war has imposed a heavy human, economic, and political cost on ‘Israel.’”
He pointed out that: “Israel’s international image has been damaged in an unprecedented way, amid mounting criticism and diplomatic isolation.”
He also noted that: “Internal divisions within Israeli society have deepened instead of receding.”
He believed that: “Netanyahu is more focused on his political survival than on offering real solutions.”
He concluded by saying: “The upcoming elections may be a decisive moment to hold him accountable for years of failed policies.”
