
Nabih Berri has called for a joint meeting of parliamentary committees comprising Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, Defense, Interior and Municipalities, Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, National Economy, Trade, Industry and Planning, in addition to Media and Communications, to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The session is scheduled to discuss a number of key legislative items, most notably:
A draft law authorizing the Lebanese government to conclude an agreement with Germany to establish local offices for the German Agency for International Cooperation.
A draft law approving an agreement with the International Monetary Fund to establish a resident representative office in Lebanon.
The proposed media law.
A proposed law aimed at granting a general amnesty and exceptionally reducing certain penalties.
