
The Syrian Artists Syndicate announced on Sunday evening the death of actor Ahmed Khalifa in Damascus at the age of 81, after a long artistic journey during which he left a distinctive mark on Syrian drama.
The late actor was born in Damascus in 1945 and began his career in theater in the 1960s before moving to cinema and television, where he appeared in prominent works including Dreams of the City, Diaries of a General Manager, Layali Al-Salihiya, Bab Al-Hara, in addition to Aila 6 Nujum.
Khalifa was known for his calm acting style and attention to fine detail, which enabled him to deliver supporting roles with deep human character that contributed to the success of many productions, despite staying away from absolute leading roles.
On the personal level, the late actor was married and had two sons, Mohammad and Muhannad. He was keen to keep his private life away from the spotlight while continuing his artistic work until his final years.
