Egyptian Foreign Minister بدر عبد العاطي received his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, in Cairo, where the meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop joint cooperation on a number of political and regional issues.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed current developments in the region, along with issues of mutual concern, within the framework of ongoing coordination between Cairo and Damascus regarding regional and international challenges.
Abdel Aaty said: "We reject Israel's attempts to exploit the situation in Syria to occupy more territory," adding: "We categorically reject the blatant Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty."
The Egyptian foreign minister stressed "the need to preserve Syria's unity and the cohesion of its national fabric," noting that "his country's position toward Syria supports the restoration of security and stability."
