Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Youssef Raji, expressed in a text message to his Cypriot counterpart, Konstantinos Kombos, his strong condemnation of the attacks targeting British military bases in Cyprus. This follows the Cypriot Foreign Minister’s statement that the drones carrying explosives used in the attacks originated from Lebanese territory.
Raji emphasized that such actions do not represent Lebanon, its people, or its values. He stressed that Lebanon will not serve as a platform for executing foreign agendas and urged his Cypriot counterparts not to confuse the Lebanese state with groups operating outside its authority and legal framework.
The minister also recalled the Lebanese government’s decision classifying all military and security activities of Hezbollah as illegal.
He underlined that the attacks on Cyprus fall precisely within this context, being carried out beyond the state’s authority and contrary to its sovereign decisions.
Raji concluded by expressing deep regret over these reprehensible acts, reaffirming Lebanon’s unequivocal rejection of them without any reservations.
