
Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam received a phone call from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who expressed Spain’s support for Lebanon and the integrity of its territory, as well as for the decisions of the Lebanese government, particularly regarding the ban on Hezbollah’s military activities. Sánchez also condemned attacks on UNIFIL forces and emphasized the need for proper investigations into these incidents. He added that Spain remains committed to supporting the Lebanese people and has allocated an additional €9 million in humanitarian aid.
For his part, President Salam appreciated Spain’s support both politically and humanitarianly, as well as its contribution to UNIFIL forces.
He stressed that the Israeli incursion in Lebanon under the pretext of establishing a buffer zone or security belt is completely unacceptable, and that Israel must halt its military operations and withdraw from all Lebanese territory.
