Al-Boustani announces to the Lebanese the passage of the Consumer Protection Law and describes it as a major victory

MP Farid Al-Boustani wrote on his account on the X platform:

I announce to the Lebanese the passage of the Consumer Protection Law, which constitutes a resounding victory for them and for their rights after long years of exploitation by some greedy traders.

I am honored to have drafted this law, submitted it, and secured its approval in the Economy Committee and the joint parliamentary committees.

The professional implementation of this law by the competent authorities will be a major gain for the rights of all citizens and will ensure their protection from uncontrolled prices and exorbitant inflation.

The ball is now in the court of the regulatory authority, which now has in its hands an effective law enabling it to monitor commodity prices, issue violation reports, and enforce fair financial penalties, thereby putting an end to the price chaos witnessed in the markets and curbing inflation.
