
The US Secretary of State affirmed that the negotiating track between Lebanon and Israel does not fall within a narrow timeframe, but rather requires time and sustained efforts to reach tangible results, pointing to the importance of the current phase and the serious opportunities it carries for progress.
He said: "This is not just a single day, and the process will take time."
He added that the United States sees the ongoing moves as a genuine opportunity that warrants persistence and continued work, saying:
"We believe the current efforts are worth it."
He noted that what is currently taking place has an exceptional character that can be built upon in the next phase, stressing: "What is taking place is a historic gathering that we hope to build on."
He also expressed hope for progress toward a long-term agreement formula, explaining: "We hope to reach a framework for a permanent agreement."
He concluded by stressing that the primary goal of these efforts is to lay solid foundations for a sustainable agreement, saying:
"The goal is to lay the foundations for a sustainable agreement in the next phase."
