Trump: No objection to suspending Iran's nuclear program for 20 years, provided there is genuine commitment

U.S. President Donald Trump said he would not object to Iran suspending its nuclear program for 20 years, but stressed that this must be a “genuine and enforceable commitment.”

In a related context, he indicated that Chinese President Xi Jinping had told him he opposes Iran possessing a nuclear weapon.

Trump added that 80% of Iran’s missile capabilities “have been destroyed,” affirming that he will decide within days whether to lift sanctions on Chinese oil companies that purchase Iranian oil.

He also claimed that “the Iranian air force has been completely eliminated” and that “a number of Iranian leaders have been removed.”
