Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced on Monday the cancellation of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s visit to New York due to difficulties related to the issuance of a visa, according to Sky News Arabia.
Baghaei said during a press conference that the visit “is no longer taking place because of a visa problem,” without providing further details on the reasons behind the disruption or its background.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry had earlier announced that Araghchi had received an invitation to participate in a special session of the UN Security Council on international peace and security, at China’s invitation, with the session scheduled to be held on Tuesday.
