Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced details of the ongoing investigation into the arrest of four people who attempted to infiltrate the country by sea.
The ministry said the detainees admitted during questioning that they belonged to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and had been assigned tasks related to illegally entering Kuwaiti territory.
According to the statement, the group entered aboard a rented fishing boat and was heading for Bubiyan Island, in what was described as an attempt to carry out hostile acts inside Kuwait.
For its part, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the incident, confirming that Kuwaiti forces engaged the infiltrating group, resulting in the injury of a soldier before all of them were arrested.
