The Public Administration Employees Association praised “all the efforts of public sector associations, but the public administration has only one legitimate representative, namely the administrative board elected on 15-2-2026, which has obtained certification from the Ministry of Interior,” clarifying what had been said about the lack of coordination between the Gathering of Public Sector Associations and the Public Administration Employees Association.
In a statement, it announced that “any decision to strike in government departments must be issued by the legitimate authority representing the administration, and the decision to strike is tied to the approval of employees and cannot be imposed without consulting them. It will study all possible options in light of what is being said about the inability to pay the six salaries that were approved on 16-2-2026, and it will hold meetings with the concerned parties to clarify the matter before resorting to escalatory steps, as it may be possible to reach a fair solution that spares the country further paralysis after what the war has caused.”
It also praised the President’s proposal to raise the transportation allowance for employees and grant a social assistance payment, even if only once, which confirms that the President is listening to employees’ demands as conveyed by the association’s administrative board.
It concluded: “The association’s next step is a sit-in on 13-5-2026, but that does not preclude the issuance of new decisions depending on the course of negotiations with the concerned parties.”
