Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa affirmed that “Damascus is affected by what is happening in Lebanon, and we appreciate the efforts made by the U.S. president to stop the war.”
He added: “We hope to move to a phase of correcting course and not repeating such wars again.”
He continued: “We are now discussing a new security agreement with Israel that guarantees its withdrawal to the 1974 lines.”
