President Joseph Aoun offered his condolences to the families of the three martyrs from the South Lebanon Water Establishment, who visited Baabda along with the institution’s chairman and director-general, Dr. Wassim Daher.
President Aoun said their martyrdom was a loss for Lebanon, not only for their families, especially as they were killed while carrying out their duty, undeterred by what their towns were being subjected to.
President Aoun noted that the targeting of the three martyred workers and their colleagues, in addition to personnel in emergency response, health, relief, the Red Cross and Civil Defense, constitutes a clear violation of international laws, conventions and humanitarian agreements, and that the international community is expected to act to put an end to it.
The President expressed hope that the suffering of the people of the South in particular, and the Lebanese in general, would end as soon as possible, pledging to follow up on the conditions of the martyrs’ families.
