A statement of condemnation issued by the mukhtar of the town of Aishiyeh, Mansour Eneid.
The mukhtar of the town of Aishiyeh, Mansour Eneid, strongly condemns the remarks made during journalist Roula Nasr’s program concerning the office of His Excellency President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, for what they contained of unacceptable offense affecting the presidency and its national symbolism.
While affirming our categorical rejection of any attack on or insult to the office of the first presidency, we call on media outlets to exercise the highest degree of professional and national responsibility, and to respect media standards that preserve the prestige of the state and its constitutional institutions.
We also call on journalist Roula Nasr to offer a clear and explicit apology for the offensive remarks she made, as an affirmation of commitment to media values and respect for national constants.
We express our full confidence in His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun and in his ability to confront the current challenges and work toward achieving the necessary reforms that meet citizens’ aspirations in building the state and strengthening its institutions, leading to a better future and a new Lebanon.
May God protect His Excellency the President and keep him a source of strength for Lebanon and the Lebanese, in health and well-being.
