Rear Admiral Saeed Siyah Sarani, assistant for cultural affairs and psychological warfare in the naval forces of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, said that the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz without Iran’s permission is “not possible.”
In remarks carried by Iranian media, Siyah Sarani issued warning messages to the United States, saying that if Washington commits any “mistake,” “the Gulf will be turned into a vast arena of conflict.”
He added that the Iranian armed forces “have not yet engaged in a direct naval confrontation with the United States,” pointing to what he described as “smart control and closure measures” for the Strait of Hormuz, and the continuation of what he called “a state of asymmetric war with the enemy at sea.”
