Ten countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Algeria, Sudan, Libya, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Palestine, and Somalia, expressed their rejection of Israel’s appointment of a diplomatic envoy to the “Somaliland” region, considering the move an infringement on the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and its territorial integrity.
According to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the foreign ministers of the participating countries stressed that this step constitutes a clear violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The statement affirmed rejection of any unilateral measures that would undermine the unity of states or diminish their sovereignty, while emphasizing support for the Somali government and its legitimate institutions as the sole representative of the Somali people.
