Dibl Municipality issued the following statement:
Dibl Municipality strongly condemns the actions carried out by the Israeli army in our town, including the demolition of homes, a full month after the outbreak of the war. Dibl is a peaceful town with no stake in this war, yet it is paying a heavy price in its security and stability.
We deeply regret the ongoing suffering we endure, from the targeting of our residents to the destruction of our homes before our very eyes—scenes that reflect the immense pain experienced by our steadfast people. We have spent our lives building our homes and livelihoods, and we did not work so hard only to stand helpless today watching them being destroyed.
Enough is enough. We are a peaceful people who seek to live with dignity. While we feel that the state has abandoned us, we affirm that we will never abandon our homeland. No matter how severe the hardships may be, a new dawn will inevitably rise.
In light of this painful reality, Dibl Municipality calls on the international community—particularly the United Nations, the Holy See (Vatican), the United States Embassy, and all concerned countries—to intervene immediately to stop this destruction and put an end to the suffering of our people.
As the sons and daughters of this town, we remain firmly committed to our right to live. As we grieve for our present and the future of our children, we reaffirm our deep roots in this land and our unwavering determination to live in safety and peace.
