Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri announced that Lebanon has submitted a request to convene a special session during the upcoming session of the Human Rights Council, as part of its diplomatic efforts related to human rights issues on the international stage.
Mitri explained, via the X platform, that the Lebanese government, through the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, had agreed weeks ago with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to send a mission to Lebanon, noting that this step will be realized soon.
He added that Lebanese ministers will present reports addressing Israeli violations during the upcoming meetings of a number of international organizations, in a context aimed at strengthening Lebanon’s presence in UN forums.
Mitri stressed that the documentation process is still ongoing, accompanied by specialized legal studies, in a way that reinforces Lebanon’s position and supports it in the relevant international tracks.
