Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates, affirmed that strengthening collective action within the Gulf Cooperation Council has become a strategic necessity amid rapid transformations and growing regional challenges.
In a post on the platform X, Gargash noted that the council was established from the outset with the aim of consolidating the security and stability of its member states, pointing out that the current phase requires reactivating its role and upgrading the mechanisms of joint cooperation.
He stressed that the current level of performance, however modest, should serve as an incentive for further development rather than a cause for stagnation, calling for enhancing the council’s effectiveness and its ability to confront challenges and protect the shared security interests of the Gulf states.
He added that the accelerating regional shifts make it imperative to move from merely managing reality to building a more cohesive and influential Gulf system, capable of keeping pace with developments and safeguarding the region’s security and stability.
