
French President Emmanuel Macron called for advancing the diplomatic track through direct talks between Washington and Tehran, in an effort to contain escalating tensions in the Middle East, stressing the need for a temporary halt to fighting to allow political solutions to take hold.
In official statements, Macron emphasized the importance of pausing hostilities for several days as a measure to facilitate urgent diplomatic efforts, noting that the goal is to prevent further escalation in the region.
Regarding Lebanon, the French president reaffirmed his country’s support for the Lebanese government in its efforts to disarm Hezbollah, highlighting France’s commitment to protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security, and expressing readiness to provide assistance in this regard.
