Lebanese Minister of Information Paul Morcos stated that “President Donald Trump’s announcement regarding the approaching end of the war in Iran is, of course, an important development.”
He emphasized that “Lebanon does not want to be linked to any regional or international path related to this war.”
In an interview with Greek television channel “Open,” he explained that “the Lebanese state does not wish to be involved in any war, and President Joseph Aoun has presented a clear initiative based on conducting negotiations under an international umbrella, although pressure must be applied on the Israeli side to respond to this initiative.”
Morcos also called for “support for the President’s initiative to halt the war and start negotiations under an international framework.”
He further urged “urgent assistance, including financial, material, and humanitarian support for the displaced.”
