Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote on the X platform: "I met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace and expressed my gratitude to France for its steadfast support for Lebanon, particularly amid the difficult circumstances it is going through. I also renewed my condolences over the killing of the French soldier serving ضمن UNIFIL, stressing Lebanon’s commitment to pursuing the investigations and punishing the perpetrators.
The meeting addressed the need to work on convening the conference in support of the armed forces, which had been scheduled for last month, as soon as possible, alongside efforts to organize a conference dedicated to recovery and reconstruction. The talks also touched on the importance of respecting the November 2024 ceasefire agreement."
