
The second day of the first Syrian-Emirati Investment Forum kicked off at the People’s Palace in Damascus, organized by the Syrian Investment Authority as part of efforts to expand economic and investment cooperation between Syria and the UAE.
Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar affirmed that the presence of Emirati businessmen in Damascus carries dimensions that go beyond the economic aspect, reflecting a climate of trust and a genuine desire to build strategic partnerships that serve the interests of both countries.
He noted that the meetings held during the forum demonstrated a positive orientation toward cooperation, stemming from the need for partnerships based on economic integration, institutional development, and the creation of a modern productive environment.
Al-Shaar also revealed understandings related to activating the joint Syrian-Emirati Business Council, with the aim of enhancing direct communication between investors and businesspeople and opening the way for long-term projects and partnerships.
